Erik has lived in FL his whole life, and he really wasn’t someone who went outside often, so to see a rare firefly wasn’t something that ever occurred to him.
After his parents die, Erik’s forced to move up north and live with his uncle Shaw, a man he’s always hated, since he could remember.
That’s when he meets Charles, who shows him the little things in life - including somewhere that the fireflies come out in the summer. He’s never in his life seen so many fireflies, floating around him and flickering lazily, it’s like something out of a fairytale.
He’s not sure if he’s dreaming, if it weren’t for Charles’ hand holding his own the entire while.

Tonight Charles was going by Francis. He’d dressed up, shaved, and gave off that nervous, virgin air. He had to be acting as bait. Under-aged bait. Erik highly disproved as he watched his hunter awkwardly flirt at the pool tables. Really, Charles should never be anything other than what he was - wolf amoung humans. Deadly, controlling, power housed in that delicious body that melted under the vampire’s touch. His human was so warm under him. So trusting. Mouthwatering. Erik would stay and watch and plan. Charles would be his to use while the vampire was in town and nothing else would touch him.
Erik was really hoping that one day, that kid was going to stop watching him from afar and actually come talk to him.
